Late Autumn Planting
Planted some seedling from Avon Mill (Golden Globe Onion & Black Kale). Also sowed peas (Meteor) and broad beans (Aquadulce Claudia). La came to the fore with her weeding skills.

A mouthwatering salad of wild rocket, giant red mustard, lettuces lillia, little gem and lolorosso, corn salad, spinach and rainbow chard. Yum!

Plan B
The fleece was fine until the winds came and is now ripped to shreds. Those pesky varmints have taken this opportunity to munch 50% of the crop but the rest is doing well. Have now purchased a length of stronger netting to protect our tender seedlings.

Not Ready To Admit Defeat Yet !!
Rolled the fleece back today to water and something's been at our veg!
You can see that the seedling on the right is almost gone. Did the sparrows get in under the cover or did the pigeons tuck in before we got the fleece on ?

Anti-Pigeon Device
It's us or them! To protect our precious seedlings from the pigeons and sparrows we have errected a fleece tunnel from water pipes and tent pegs. It should also give the tender plants a warmer start in life. I am worried about the fleece tearing though, time will tell.

Autumn Start
Having missed spring planting this year due to our European trip in Molly, Liz & I have decided to get a late, but rapid start with a batch of Autumn and Winter vegetables as seedlings direct from Rocket Gardens in Cornwall.
After the success of our travel blog I thought this new blog would help to keep our motivation up and our veggie chums in touch.
